In PC years 2011 was like the mesozoic eraīut why would you even worry about windows 11 on that?īy the time windows 10 isnt usable any more, the rest of the PC will no longer be supported by anything anyways and may have actually died by then. Now the very cheap i5 9600k dances circles around it in power saving mode. The overclocked I5 2400k was great, in 2011
It was over built, then, 24 months later, it was not remotely overbuilt That's ok, in PC years, my K62 with Voodoo 2 SLI remembers when God was born. No offense, but 2011 is antique in PC years Still more than enough for anything I need out of this. I have an OC'ed I-5 2400k running at 3.9ghz with 16gb of ddr 3 ram.

It's hardly slow, and there's no reason to upgrade JUST to run 11. Or put a gun to my head and said "Throw that away right now and run out and buy something new"Įxactly my point. No one from MS has showed up at my house shouting "Hey stop that, shut that off!" They can stay at windows 7 or windows 10, which ever one they happen to be running.

Windows 11 would be of 0 benefit to them, too old, wont be able to take advantage of any benefits, no drivers since moses was born. Some of that stuff might run windows 11, if i plugged in a TPA model, which you can buy cheap, but why? They will run it, but they are not supported, on your own to make it work, may not be optimal.

Most of them never had any driver updates since window 7. I have some stuff that does not, but those machines are technically not even windows 10 compatible/supported either Most decent motherboards should have that plus.Īll intel CPU's from gen 6 and up have the module on the CPU itself, so no need to worry if the motherboard has it or not there.Īll the AMD AM4 cpu's have one on the CPU, so no need to worry about the motherboard there.Īll of those are going to be 2+ cores and 64bit It does require TPM 2.0 but even my antique laptop has that on the motherboard (not on the CPU, it's only 3rd gen) If for no other reason, MS is not going to make an OS that does not run on their current for sale newest hardware. The kicker is that Win 11 is going to require at least an 8th gen intel CPU (and other AMD etc). Maybe FP will get a benefit because it uses a Newer Renderer with BAM. none of which will be a dramatic benefit (or any) to VP in general.
Win 11 features of interest to Gamers are things like Auto HDR, DirectStorage, XBOXGamePass, etc. as these are older apps using older API that don't support newer features. Win 11 will most likely not be of any benefit to VPX / FP / VPVR,etc.
